The Shanghai Hilton Hotel, China, 73FG
Located midway between Shanghai’s two main shopping streets, the Shanghai Hilton Hotel is a popular choice of stay amongst business and trade visitors. One of the more spectacular architectural structures within the hotel is the skylight above the coffeehouse. However, this also means that during summer season, where temperature could go as high as 45 Degrees Celsius, intense solar heat can penetrate through the skylight, thus affecting the coffeeshop business. 73FG was chosen, as the management did not want to compromise the natural light entering the coffeehouse with heat rejection. Upon completion of the film installation, business at the coffeehouse improved gradually. |

JW Marriott Hotel, India, 73FG
J.W. Marriot Hotel, Bombay became the first major hotel to embrace IQue film in India. Its 24-hour café, The Lotus Café, was facing over 6 hours of direct sunlight everyday. Sales at the café were declining, as customers were not able to sit by the windows to enjoy the spectacular seaview in the day. A solution that would drastically reduce the heat gain without impairing the spectacular seaview from the large window façade was needed. Owing to its high clarity and superior solar heat control properties, the management of Marriot chose 73FG. After installation of the film, the staff and customers commented on the tremendous reduction of heat gain from the glass. Once again, window seats are popular among customers. |

Marina Mandarin, Singapore, 73FG
In 2005, Marina Mandarin, a 5-star hotel, located in the heart of Marina Bay, underwent a SGD25 million enhancement. One of the main features of its hotel structure, its magnificent skylight was retained. However, due to Singapore’s climate, solar heat still penetrates through the skylight that was fitted with clear window glass, causing intense heat gain to its interiors. 73FG was chosen, as it did not compromise on the natural light entering the hotel. |

Novotel Clarke Quay, Singapore, 73FG
Novotel Clarke Quay Singapore is situated along the banks of Singapore River, which offers a blend of entertainment, shopping and dining experiences. Its banquet halls and function rooms on the fifth and sixth floors have floor to ceiling bay clear-glass windows which was previously coated with a competitor’s film. However, with the heat gain from the afternoon sun, the competitor’s film failed to live to its expectations. After conducting and presenting a detailed energy study to the management of Novotel, 73FG was selected. Upon completion of installation, Novotel experienced a reduction of accumulation of heat, resulting in energy savings as well as reducing extra loading to the air-conditioning system. |

The Westin Banyan Tree Hotel, Thailand, 73FG
The Westin Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand is located right in the heart of the Bangkok Metropolitan and is known among international visitors and locals for its first class facilities and services. Located on the 50th and 60th floor of the hotel is the famous restaurant/lounge, The Compass Rose. The design of The Compass Rose incorporates the concept of daylighting through extensive use of large clear glass panels to allow maximum light. However, during the day, temperatures in the lounge can soar to unbearable levels. Even with air-conditioners working at full capacity, customers still complained of the heat through the large windows. After reviewing several solar control film products, the management has chosen 73FG because it fits the criteria of the management – high clarity and high solar control property. After the installation, 73FG has solved the problem – getting rid of hot spots without compromising the natural daylight of the space and also preserve the exterior appearance of the hotel. |
