C.K. Tang Limited, Singapore, CS400/83
Located directly in the heart of Singapore’s most vibrant shopping belt, C.K. Tang has established itself as a prominent leader in local retail landscape. In its effort to continually improve the shopping experience, C.K. Tang embarked upon a major three-floor revamp of its monolithic flagship shop in Orchard Road. Majority of the façade was replaced with glass doors and displays, allowing natural light to permeate through. IQue Safety & Security film, CS400/83, was installed as it has Fragment Retention properties that hold broken glass shards in event of glass breakage, ensuring shoppers a safe shopping environment. |

Exxon USA Tiger Marts, USA, 73FG
In the late 1990s, mini convenience stores located in petrol stations were gaining popularity among the Americans. Even though these stores provide one-stop petrol refilling cum shopping experience and convenience for drivers, petrol station owners quickly realize that the large clear window panes of these stores are a significant source of heat gain and increase energy consumption. Realizing the potential for substantial energy savings, the engineering department of Exxon (USA) has chosen 73FG to be applied to all new outlets that were facing the problem of high solar heat gain and require heat control. The reasons behind the choice were 73FG’s unique performance characteristics – reduction in energy costs (i.e. air-conditioning costs), high clarity and maintenance of the building’s exterior appearance. |

Wheelock Place, Singapore , 53GII
Wheelock Place, strategically located in the heart of Orchard Road, with anchor tentants like Borders, Marks & Spencer, and AppleCentre, has a semi-circular outdoor atrium which is a popular spot for those who preferred a quiet alcove from the bustle of the shopping district. While the building is an architectural marvel, it does not escape the exposure to the harsh conditions in Singapore. With the problem of glare and heat in the premise, the management of Wheelock Place needed a film that could reject a high percentage of solar heat entering into the premise and most importantly, it must not alter the appearance of the glass. The anchor product of IQue, 53GII, was chosen due to its high UV rejection property and its ability to filter out 40% of the sun’s visible light, achieving a perfect balance of daylight harvesting without the glare.

Marks & Spencer, Al-Futtaim Centre, Diera, United Arab Emirates, 73FG
Marks & Spencer, led by Al-Futtaim Group, has several outlets in United Arab Emirates and Oman. All the outlets are big-scale, carrying a wide range of products ranging from Ladies’ Wear to Food. Adhering to high customer satisfaction philosophy, the management was concerned with the high temperature experience during summer period for shoppers and high electricity cost as a result of the high air-conditioning load. It also wanted to maintain the original appearance of the window glasses while getting rid of the unwanted heat as complained by shoppers. Despite the competition from established window film players, 73FG was selected instead. The decision was based on 73FG’s ability to reject up to 94% of infra-red heat while maintaining the high visual clarity of the window glass. |
