Technology A Technological Breakthrough – Not Just Once, But TWICE A significant advancement in Surface and Particle Science led to the development of IQue’s spectrally selective films known as IQue Selective.
By tapping on the patented and proprietary V-KOOL technology and perfecting multi-layer
dielectric stack, (approximately 180 nanometers think), IQue Selective is able to intelligently filter out unwanted and harmful infra-red and ultra-violet rays while allowing significant amount of visible light through. Sputtering is a process whereby multi-layers of metallic coatings of thickness even less than a hairline are embedded onto the world’s top 1% grade of optically-clear and durable polyester film. The raw materials for the multi-stack sputtering process include a range of exotic and precious metal like Indium (In), Titanium (Ti), Silver (Ag), etc. The infra-red reflecting composite of silver and indium oxide layer is deposited on a transparent thin film. This revolutionary technology has won the product many accolades including Popular Science Magazine’s Top 100 Inventions of The Millennium. Today, IQue has launched a Generation 2 Film, which is the world’s first 10 multi-layer sputtered film. Over 10 years of extensive research and field experiments resulted in the birth of this technological brilliance which can reject more than 60% of solar energy, achieving a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.39, and yet allowing 55% of daylight to be transmitted through the glass windows. The lowest ever visible light reflectivity for windows of 7% maintains the aesthetic of natural transparency of glass. What can be more ideal than this? |
